Kulanihako’i to host first sporting event
Kulanihako’i High School will hold its first on-campus sporting event Saturday when the Manta Rays host Kihei Charter School in a junior varsity boys basketball game.
There will be no charge for the Maui Interscholastic League game that is being billed as the “Kihei Classic.” Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. for the game that will be played on the KHS outdoor basketball court.
Food trucks will be on site and attendees are asked to bring their own chairs.

Shim of South Korea has ace at Waiehu
Hung-Sup Shim of Seoul, South Korea, had a hole-in-one on Jan. 23 at Waiehu Municipal Golf Course.
Shim used a 9-iron to ace the No. 16 hole from 116 yards. Ja Young Yoo witnessed the shot.
